Clean & Simple Picture Perfect Birthday

I used products from the Picture Perfect Suite to create today's card.  I probably say this about almost every Stampin' Up! product I use, nut it's worth saying again:  I am in love with this suite!   One of the first things that drew me to Stampin' Up! was their color coordination.  What has really kept me (besides the fantastic quality!) is the product coordination.  Having coordinating stamps, paper, and embellishments take the guesswork out of everything and ensure exceptional results!
The photographic designs in the Designer Series Paper  are so unique!  And the graphic designs on the back sides are just as great!

The Sketch

There is another great sketch at Clean & Simple Stamping this week!  This is the sketch that served as my inspiration:

The Color Combination

My color combination comes right from the designer series paper: Berry Burst, Peekaboo Peach and Pool Party.

Card Recipe

  • Pool Party card base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
  • Berry Burst: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
  • Picture Perfect Party DSP: 4" x 4 1/4"
  • Pool Party: 4" x 1"
  • Berry Burst: 2 5/8" x 1 3/8"
  • Whisper White: 2 1/2 x 1 1/4"
  • Whisper White scrap

Tips to Recreate this Card

  • When doing two-step stamping, I prefer to start with the darkest ink first.  I started with the Berry Burst paper coil, Pool Party fringe, Berry Burst dots, and then the Peekaboo Peach tube.  Cut with Paper Snip Scissors.
  • The sentiment piece is attached to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals,  The paper horn is also attached with Dimensionals for extra dimension.
  • The ribbon was wrapped around the top layers.  I would normally tie a knot before attaching the ribbon, but I decided later to add it.  So instead, I tied a knot in a small piece of ribbon, trimmed the ends on an angle and then attached with a glue dot.

  • Crumb Cake card base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
  • Pink Pirouette: 3 15/16" x 5 3/16"
  • Crumb Cake: 3 3/4" x 5"
  • Pink Pirouette: 3 1/2" x 3 11/16"
  • Whisper White: 3 5/16" x 3 1/2"
  • Whisper White: 3/4" x 3 1/4"

Tips to Recreate this Card

  • The images are stamped with Memento ink and then colored with Stampin' Blends.  The Blends make coloring and shading so easy!
  • The butterfly image was stamped, colored, and then 'fussy cut' using the Paper Snip Scissors.

  • The Crumb Cake background was embossed with the Basket Weave Embossing Folder.  Before running it through the Big Shot, I used the Crumb Cake ink pad to add ink to the raised side of the embossing folder (the side with the SU! logo).  The ink gives the design much more depth.  Here is a picture for comparison:
