Clean & Simple Painted Harvest

When I have a hard time getting started on a card, I often look for sketches to get me going.  One of my favorite sites is  Clean & Simple Stamping.  This is the card that I designed using this week's sketch. I ended up making the card with two different colors of cardstock for the accents and base.
I used the Painted Harvest Stamp Set to stamp the flowers and leaves on the Very Vanilla background.  After i finished stamping, I used a Crumb Cake ink pad to ink up the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Embossing Folder before embossing the cardstock.  I love the way this turned out.

Halloween Elcipse for TGIF

The challenge this week at TGIF Challenges is to make an eclipse card.  I absolutely love this technique so I was quick to play along!

I pulled out the Spooky Cat stamp set for this card.  I wanted to use a color combination other than the typical orange and black.  Fresh Fig and Lemon Lime Twist cardstock was sitting on my table, so that's what I went with.  I like how the combination works for a Halloween card.

After stamping my white cardstock with various stamps from this set, I cut out the letters with the Large Letters Framelits.  I added them back to the card with dimensionals and slightly offset so the Fresh Fig shows a little.  I also added a cat punched with the Cat Punch and a few Black Rhinestones.

Clean & Simple Swirly Snowflakes

I made this card using the sketch challenge at Clean & Simple Stamping. This was an easy card that came together very quickly.   I used the  Swirly Snowflakes dies to make a scalloped border.  I also used the Quilted Christmas DSP stack and  Quilted Christmas 1/4" ribbon from the Holiday Catalog.

One Clean & Simple Sketch, Two Cards

Looking for some inspiration for cards, I went to the Clean & Simple Stamping blog to look at their old sketches.  I was pleasantly surprised to see that they were back online!  I have always loved their sketches. I have used them for many of my cards.

I made two cards using this week's sketch.  I am happy with both, but think the Night in Bethlehem card is my favorite of the two.  This card came together quickly and would work great for making a large quantity.  The colors in this card are Night of Navy, Smoky Slate, and Whisper White. I added a few rhinestones for a little bling.

My second card uses the Painted Harvest stamp set.  This was my first time using this set.  The sunflowers are stamped in So Saffron, Crushed Curry, Soft Suede and Early Espresso.  The fern leaves are Old Olive and Always Artichoke.  I stamped the acorns in Sahara Sand and Soft Suede.  I tied a little Linen Twine around the card and then finished it off with a leaf and acorn popped up on dimensionals.

Merry Patterns for TGIF

I have been so anxious to ink up my Merry Patterns stamp set.  This week's TGIF Challenge was exactly the inspiration I needed for this card.  I used a pretty classic Christmas color combination of Real Red, Garden Green and Whisper White.
The deer was stamped in Real Red and then 'fussy cut' with paper snips and popped up with dimensionals.  The background DSP is from the Wood Textures DSP Stack.  This DSP is perfect for masculine and rustic-styled cards.
All supplies for this card are available on my Stampin' Up! website.

Wacky Watercooler Celebrates the Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-bration “Take Two"

Welcome to the Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop!  It's been a while since I've been able to participate in this hop.  I am so excited to be able to have a part in this hop along with such talented Stampin' Up! demos.

If you have been following the hop, then you came here from My Tanglewood Cottage.  Don't you just love Marie's cards?  She used two of my favorite new stamp sets!  To continue in the hop, simply click on the 'next' image on the bottom of this post.  This is a circular hop, which means that wherever you begin, if you continue to go to the 'next' blog, you will eventually end up where you began.  If at anytime you want to see a full list of participants, click on the 'Home' button.

Now, let's get on to the main attractions!

My first card uses the Balloon Adventures bundle for the Occasion catalog.  I am in love with this bundle! There are so many pieces and the options are endless.  The main die was created to be a pop-up for the inside of a card, but doesn't it also look great on the front of the card?  My color combo on this card is Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette, Soft Sky, Sweet Sugarplum, and Whisper White.  I added a small rhinestone to the bow for a little bling.  I needed to keep this card flat because it will be on its way to New Zealand tomorrow as part of my #imbringingbirthdaysback commitment.  Want to help me reach my goal (and receive a handmade birthday card)?  Send me an email (mlisakmiec@gmail.com) with your birthdate and address and I'll add you to my list!

My second card uses my favorite Sale-A-Bration stamp set: Hey, Chick!  I just love all the chickens in this set.  The main chicken on this card was stamped on Smokey Slate DSP and then paper pieced. I used the Stampin' Write markers to color in the chicken's comb, beak and legs.  My color combo on this card is Basic Black, Smokey Slate, Watermelon Wonder and Whisper White.

I hope you enjoyed visiting my blog.  If this is your first time here, I'm glad you stopped by and hope you'll be back again!  Be sure to subscribe to my blog, using the 'subscribe' button on the upper right side.  Then head over to Coffee Pot Stamping Cafe to see what Marsha has to share with you.
Thanks for stopping by!

Joyful Wondrous Wreath

If it is possible to use a stamp set to often, Wondrous Wreath may be it for me! I'm not sure where my obsession for this set comes from.

The week's challenge at Stamp Ink Paper is to use embossing.  I love the look if heat embossing but rarely do it, so I figured it was a good opportunity to pull out my Stampin' Emboss powders.

I stamped the base of the wreath in Mint Macaron and the berries in Cherry Cobbler ink.  I then stamped the scattered leaf stamp with Versa Mark and heat embossed with Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder.  I added the smallest pearls near some of the berries to add some extra dimension.  The 'Joy' sentiment is cut from Whisper White cardstock.

Paisleys and Posies

Confession:  This is the first card I made with the Paisleys and Posies stamp set!  I know, I know!  It may have been one of  the first things I ordered from the Holiday Catalog, and it has sat without ink this whole time!

The background of this card is just several of the images from this stamp set stamped randomly.  The colors were inspired by the Color Throwdown Challenge: Pear Pizzaz, Smoky Slate, So Saffron and Soft Sky.

The sentiment was stamped on Whisper White with Smoky Slate ink. I trimmed the end with my paper snips and added a die cut from the Paisley Framelits.  Finally, I added a rhinestone for some bling.

Christmas Peace

This is a simple and easily reproducible card.  This would be great card if you are making a large amount.  The snowflake image is from the Holly Jolly Greetings stamp set and is stamped with Pool Party ink, as is the words 'On Earth'.  The word 'peace' was cut on the Big Shot using the Christmas Greetings Thinlits.

I used two challenges for inspiration for this card.  The sketch comes from Freshly Made Sketches.  The color combination is from the Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge.
